<h1 id="description">Description</h1>
As a Senior Web Designer, you are the design lead on projects beside the content lead and project manager. The three of you together are the core team. You work directly with the client from the beginning of the project intaking the deep insights into their science and beginning to map that to visual concepts. With the support of content, you create wireframes that are the foundations for the design work ahead. As a lead, you may pull in brand design for building out a brand with the client, pull on the 3D Designer or Motion Designer to support with your vision. You’ll have the support of a Creative Director to bounce your vision off of as you work to dial in a visual direction that meets client business goals. The final products are emotionally impactful, clear communicating, user-friendly marketing websites, decks or marketing collateral. You have extensive experience designing for a variety of clients and audiences, and you stay up-to-date with the latest web design tools and trends. When someone talks about typography hierarchy, and clear layout your heart beats faster. This ain’t your first rodeo.
<h1 id="activities-will-likely-include">Activities will likely include:</h1>
<ul>
<li>Collaborating with our team to understand business goals, key messages, target audiences, and clients competition</li>
<li>Creating strategic, results-driven design, and guiding communication to do a very specific business job for the client</li>
<li>Developing design concepts that align with client needs and translate complex ideas into an intuitive user experience</li>
<li>Creating site prototypes, and final designs in Figma</li>
<li>Working in collaboration with a brand designers, 3D designers, Photographers, Motion Designers, and Creative Technologists to guide the brand through its various disciplines and outputs to enhance the user experience and strengthen the way the world experiences the client</li>
<li>Ensuring design consistency across multi-device web pages and integrating feedback from clients and internal teams</li>
<li>Staying up-to-date with web design software, tools, and trends to produce innovative, effective website designs</li>
<li>Providing quality assurance to certify that client feedback is implemented and errors are corrected before launching</li>
<li>Speaking articulately with the client, addressing their needs creatively while supporting the team meeting deadlines, and staying on target.</li>

<h1 id="experience">Experience</h1>
<ul>
<li>Senior level: At least 5–8 years of experience as a web designer or similar role</li>
<li>You have designed websites for a range of clients, especially in technical fields</li>
<li>You have worked with marketing, content, and development teams to build and launch websites on time and on budget. You know how to collaborate well and have opinions on how it’s done well</li>
<li>You have a strong portfolio of website designs that demonstrate your visual and UX design skills</li>
<li>You are a strategic, creative thinker able to understand client needs and translate complex ideas into an intuitive digital experience</li>
<li>You are organized and detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple projects at once and meet tight deadlines</li>
<li>You have excellent communication skills to collaborate with clients and internal teams, and explain your design decisions</li>
<li>You understand business and marketing principles and are able to bring that understanding to the table when crafting a design from wireframes</li>

We’re seeking a front-end designer with expertise in modern web technologies to support our team in improving our software. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in front-end technologies but also have a strong design sense. While your day-to-day may not typically consist of creating high-fidelity mockups, you would be expected to understand basic visual design principles that help communicate complex concepts in the Planning Center ecosystem.
The Front End Designer reports to the Product Design Manager and is embedded on a multidisciplinary product team. In this role, you can expect to:

THE COLLEGE: RIT&#39;s College of Art and Design is the university&#39;s creative hub where art, design, science, and technology intersect in our 200,000+ sq. ft. facility. We are a dynamic and professional arts and design community comprised of nearly 2,000 students (UG and Grad), 140 full-time faculty, 60 creative staff, and a number of professional part-time faculty, all of whom contribute to our College’s ecosystem. Required Minimum Qualifications
• MFA in Graphic Design or a terminal degree in a related field of study
• Minimum of two years fulltime professional experience in graphic design and/or a related design field
• Minimum of two years teaching experience at the university level beyond a teaching assistantship
• Demonstrated a fluency in practice areas, such as Typography, Information Design, Experiential Design, Systems Design, Interactive Design, Web Design, Motion Design, Packaging Design, etc.
• Demonstrated proficiency in graphic design theory and practice
• Demonstrated an expertise in graphic design across traditional and emerging medias
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences

Code for America is looking for a talented Bilingual Senior UX Designer who will:
<ul>
<li>Contribute significantly to creating more inclusive services, where language and cultural considerations are important factors in design</li>
<li>Leverage bilingual design expertise to design user interfaces, interactions, and experiences that seamlessly accommodate multiple languages</li>
<li>Lead the development and implementation of UX strategies that account for the unique needs and preferences of diverse, multilingual user groups</li>
<li>Conduct user research and usability testing in Spanish, using the findings to guide design decisions and improvements.</li>
<li>Document design processes, guidelines, and best practices for creating multilingual user interfaces.</li>
<li>Define and validate shared design patterns that can be used across program areas</li>

As a Senior UX Designer at Code for America, you will help transform how government services are delivered. Your work will demonstrate that design can create the conditions for generational, systemic change and help millions of people in need. In our safety net portfolio, you will work with a multidisciplinary team of designers, researchers, engineers, and policy experts to analyze problems, and create solutions for public services that are simple enough for everyone to use.

You will report to a Design Manager, and work alongside other designers, and Engineering, Product, Data Science, Qualitative Research, and Client Success departments. You will contribute to team culture, and define best practices for doing design with respect and dignity.
In this position you will:
<ul>
<li>Improve the end-to-end user experience within your assigned portfolio.</li>
<li>Create visual aids such as journey maps, service blueprints, and information architecture maps to illustrate the current and ideal service states.</li>
<li>Develop clear, concise, and engaging content for our products, including screens, text messages, notices, flyers, and other client-facing materials.</li>
<li>Measure the impact of service improvements, aligning them with stakeholder goals and user needs.</li>
<li>Establish interaction patterns, standards, and style guides to ensure design consistency across Code for America&#39;s programs and products.</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and program teams to address design challenges effectively.</li>
<li>Coordinate with researchers to plan and conduct design research and usability tests to evaluate your designs.</li>
<li>Use common design methods to enhance clarity, foster connections, and deepen stakeholder understanding of the ecosystem, power dynamics, and service offerings within your designated areas.</li>
<li>Document proposed service improvements and communicate your insights to the team and government partners.</li>
</ul>
About you:
<ul>
<li>You have 4+ years of experience in content design and/or ux design or related disciplines.</li>
<li>Fluency in Spanish and experience designing content in Spanish</li>
<li>A portfolio of relevant work with strong examples of your work, your design process, and your role</li>
<li>Familiarity with common industry design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Mural, Trello, Github, etc.</li>
<li>Familiarity with agile, iterative software development practices</li>
<li>Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team</li>
<li>Able to manage multiple high-priority initiatives, including early-stage product strategy as well as delivery of tactical and incremental design improvements</li>
<li>Ability to collaborate and facilitate design discussion in a remote working environment</li>
<li>Experience mentoring designers and communicating the value of design to stakeholders and cross-functional partners.</li>
</ul>
It’s a bonus if you have:

<li>Personal experience with or professional experience working within the criminal-legal system, social safety net or other mission-relevant government services.</li>
<li>Experience in civic service design, civic tech, or social impact design in the public sector.</li>

The targets for this role are dependent on the market/geographic location. The targets for this role range from $111,648 to $136,675.
