The Experience Research team here at Asana is focused on understanding the dynamics of modern work, the role technology plays and how Asana can empower teams to thrive in a collaborative environment. We’re looking for a creative, curious, collaborative human who is excited to help us in our mission to improve the world of work. Our ideal candidate is a senior researcher and has experience designing and delivering a wide range of research and can balance rigor with experimentation. We’re especially interested in people who have seen the evolution of a product from a small, dedicated set of users to a large global audience.
What you’ll achieve:
-Identify and prioritize opportunities where research can help improve a product decision or customer experience
-Lead all aspects of the research cycle, from scoping and recruiting to method selection, analysis and presentation
-Understand the specific issues/needs facing the user no matter where they are in their journey (new, proficient, etc.) and work to improve it
-Advocate for the customer by gracefully stating uncomfortable truths when necessary
-Quickly deliver findings and insights that account for the company’s mission, initiatives, and desired business goals without losing sight of customer needs
-Help define the usability bar and advise on meeting that bar
-Give guidance to teams outside of project work to help them make sound decisions based on market, customer, and product knowledge
-Recommend and enact improvements to the team’s process, tools and communications
-Strong background in design and usability principles
-Experience leading a range of evaluative and generative methodologies both on-site and remote
-Sound ability to scope, plan and execute each step of the research process from end to end
-Expert in scoping, planning and executing each step of the research process
-Understanding of how to leverage frameworks and model-thinking
-Foundational knowledge of information architecture, design principles and content strategy for both web and mobile
-Ability to construct meaningful stories that are memorable, develop a life of their own, and are true to the data
-Skilled presenter and persuasive communicator
-Comfortable with the technologies for recording, analyzing, storing, and sharing research
-5+ years applied experience in a high-tech/product-driven company
Nice to have:
-Accessibility standards and compliance (e.g. WCAG, 508, etc.)
-An understanding of quantitative and market research methods
-Experience expanding products into non-US markets
-Worked with teams in remote offices (different time zones)
-Experience/familiarity with collaboration tools, workplace dynamics, decision-making topics
