Senior Product Designer, Design Systems

Our team of designers, content strategists, and researchers is growing fast, which means you’ll have impact in a creative environment and help develop best practices.

What you'll do

  • Identify reusable visual attributes, components, interaction patterns and layouts within the Credit Karma product
  • Capture new requirements and requests from our design system’s “customers” — the designers, product writers, engineers and PMs embedded in vertical product teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to propose durable and accessible solutions
  • Create high-quality, production-ready component libraries in Figma
  • Solicit and synthesize feedback for proposed system additions, changes or processes from cross-functional stakeholders
  • Write and publish thorough documentation for new contributions to the system
  • Evangelize and highlight opportunities to use the system when deviations arise, in design crits, pairing sessions or other meetings
  • Help transition our design system to support a fully cross-platform experience
  • Build Credit Karma’s design infrastructure muscle by iterating on all aspects of our design process
  • Evolve our product’s visual language, with a focus on accessible and inclusive design best practices
  • Contribute to our design system’s roadmap and prioritization planning

What we expect

  • 3+ years of relevant product design experience, supported by a portfolio of successfully launched projects
  • Passionate about connecting complex products that span multiple industries and platforms
  • Collaborate closely with others and embrace a “pair design” mindset
  • Navigate the tradeoffs between maintaining existing experiences and inventing or extending new ones
  • Deep understanding of native and responsive web design patterns and best practices
  • Detail orientation, with equal levels of craft in visual and UX design
  • Clearly articulate design decisions that are supported by sound rationale
  • Seek to validate solutions with research and data
  • Proactively incorporate accessible and inclusive design standards into your work
  • Ability to direct your creativity towards improvements in team process, communication and culture
  • Technical enough to fluently talk through engineering requirements and implementation constraints
  • Proficient across the current design tools landscape
