Senior Product Designer

Hi, I’m Stephanie Overholt, VP Product here at Moves. We’re a 30-person team based in Toronto. I’m looking for a Senior Product Designer to support the design and experience of our product, Moves. Moves is a fintech platform addressing the underserved needs of independent workers in the gig economy to contribute to their financial health. This role is fully remote and we welcome applicants from all over Canada who can work typical EST business hours.

We are creating a modern digital collective and a platform of financial products. Moves customers (we call them ‘members’) will earn economic interest in the collective by consuming financial products and taking steps to improve their overall financial health - all while belonging to a growing group of their peers pursuing similar objectives.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in improving the financial lives of Moves members by deeply understanding their needs, envisioning thoughtful and effortless design solutions, and working cross functionally with Product Managers and Engineers to bring those solutions to life. Your days could be spent interviewing members of Moves to further understand their needs, researching and testing UX and holistic experience design requirements, or contributing to design projects working with your team.

What you get to do every day as a Senior Product Designer 👇

• Collaborate closely with agile team Product Managers and Engineers to execute strategic concepts through design exploration, ideation and user validation
• Turn complex ideas from product discovery into simple, compelling, inclusive and user-friendly UX and visual designs
• Orient yourself around actual members and their needs through thorough user research
• Proactively test ideas with real members of Moves by building user tests into a regular cadence
• You will be constantly looking for ways that we can deliver value to our members through engaging experiences and UI

Our ideal candidate 👀

• Has 5-8 years' experience working as a Product Designer in product-led organizations
• Is empathetic and advocates for users based on a deep understanding of their needs
• Has extensive experience with prototyping methodologies using modern design tools (we use Figma) - you use this as your primary tool for promoting ideas, and conveying your solutions
• Has an expert level understanding and communication of UX, including interaction and visual design
• Has proven expertise turning complex business problems into simple and engaging products for consumers on web and mobile

It would be really great if you ✅

• Have brought new products to market and iterated on them to achieve product market fit
• Have experience developing and executing user testing initiatives
• Have consumer fintech or social platform start-up experience
• Have experience designing a native mobile app
