At meQ, the newly formed Design Practice is responsible for leading the organization in delivering best-in-class, mental-health and workplace wellbeing products and services.

About the Job:

As a Senior Designer, you’ll work with the extended design practice to transform the experience, value, and effectiveness of meQ product and service offerings through cross-disciplinary collaboration, creative problem solving, and exceptional interaction and visual design skills.

Senior Designers bridge research and data insights, and collaborative workshop explorations, with business, therapeutic, and experience strategy goals to generate design concepts, prototypes, and ready to code comps and specs along with strategy maps and documents, data visualizations, and critical reports and presentations.

As a senior member of the practice, you’ll be responsible for leading design projects and workstreams, partnering with product management, content, and engineering to keep generative, iterative, and refinement sprints moving effectively, and communicating progress to the C-suite and other internal stakeholders.

Critical to success in this role is having a deep understanding of design best practices and patterns across a range of platforms such as responsive web, native mobile applications, Slack, and Teams. Knowing when to apply, break, and invent new patterns and guidelines to solve design challenges and build efficient design systems and libraries is also of key importance.

Senior Designers should have 5+ years of experience and have contributed to multiple shipped projects and solutions.

Additional skills and experience in information architecture, wayfinding, and navigation; UX writing and microcopy; and applying behavior change principles and techniques to UX/UI design are a huge plus.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead design projects and workstreams to build and test new experiences that directly help the mental health and wellbeing of our members and support client and meq business goals.

Solve complex problems with elegant designs while pushing the creative boundaries of our solutions and technical delivery capabilities.

Lead and collaborate in workshops and cross-functional design sessions to envision new futures and tactical implementation of strategy across all member and customer touch points.

Responsible for designing the look, feel, and behavior of employee and customer facing platforms and products, from overarching interaction models down to detailed micro-interactions.

Be exploratory (what if?...), experimental (literally A/B tests), and ultimately confident (presents a solid rationale for design decisions) in design work throughout the product development lifecycle.

Collaborates with Product Marketing to define and govern project and feature requirements and specs used to communicate design intent to engineering, sales, and marketing. Ensures design and engineering team outputs meet said design specs and critical stakeholder expectations.

Works with Principal Designer and Engineering teams to develop and maintain an overarching design system and pattern/component library to optimize collaboration and implementation between delivery teams. Advocate for creative, interface and interaction design standards and accessibility with designers, engineers, content providers and relevant project stakeholders.

Leads cross-functional and company wide open design studios to frame a problem or opportunity space and generate a wide range of potential solutions.

Leads cross-functional and company wide open critiques to validate design solutions and receive feedback canvassing a range of perspectives.

Proactively identifies and shares out opportunities to improve our existing products and envisions net new blue sky opportunities in addition to formal collaborations with research, strategy, marketing, and sales stakeholders.

Our headquarters are based in Boston. There will be times when travel to the Boston office is necessary for team meetings or training. Must be able to work east coast hours.
