YORK COLLEGE OF PENNSYLVANIA invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Graphic Design to begin in August 2024. This faculty member will focus primarily on User Experience/User Interface Design, Motion Graphics, and Digital Media aspects of the discipline. Candidates should have an in-depth understanding of design processes and methodologies including research, concept development, and execution. An M.F.A. in Graphic Design or a related discipline, completed by August 2024 is required.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, curricular input and engaging in artistic activity. Additional responsibilities include ongoing professional development and service to the department and college including advising and recruitment activities. Graphic Design courses to be taught may include but are not limited to: Web Design I and II, Motion Graphics, and Typography I and II. The typical teaching load at YCP is 4-4. A minimum of two years of successful teaching at the college level (this can include adjunct teaching) and a minimum of three years of professional experience are preferred. A successful candidate will be well-versed in current Graphic Design industry trends, with the ability to teach pre-professional candidates, and non-majors.
